What is a Cord?

In accordance with Georgia Department of Agriculture Rule 40‑15‑4‑.02, firewood must be advertised and sold by cord or legal fractions of a cord (e.g. ⅓ cord, ½ cord, ⅔ cord).

A cord is defined as a tightly stacked pile of firewood measuring:

• 4 feet high × 4 feet deep × 8 feet long

• Totaling 128 cubic feet

We sell only by cord or exact fractional amounts — never by vague terms like “truckload,” “pile,” or “rack.”

Our firewood is split to small or medium size, cut to standard 16” lengths, and sorted to ensure quality. No oversized chunks, no junk wood, and no softwoods in our premium and oak mixes.
